NTA Notification on CMAT Registration Date Extension

The National Testing Agency issued a public notice on November 17, 2025, on the extension of the last date for submission of Online Applications for the Entrance Exam of Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2026. 

NTA public notice on CMAT 2026 last date extension says, “In continuation to the Public Notice dated 17 October 2025 regarding submission of online application form and in response to multiple requests received from the candidates to extend the last date for online application form, NTA has decided to extend the last date for submission of online application form for CMAT-2026, enabling the aspiring candidate(s) to apply for the said exam.”

Documents required for CMAT Registration 2026

CMAT registration process is given below. The candidate should keep the following documents ready before starting to fill out the CMAT Application Form 2026:
1. Technical Requirements:

  • A computer with proper internet connectivity

2. Personal Identification Details:

  • The particulars of a valid Government ID proof
  • Govt Identity Details like Aadhaar Number (last 4 digits)/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/ Bank Account Number/PAN Number/ Other valid Govt IDs.
  • The Date of Birth (as mentioned in Class X Board Certificate)

3. Educational Qualification:

  • Educational/Qualification details
  • PwD certificate (file size: 50kb to 300kb), if applicable.

4. Digital Documents (Scanned Images):

  • Scanned a clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb), either in colour or black & white,e with 80% face (without mask) visible, including ears against a white background.
  • Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb)

5. Application Preferences:

  • List of Exam City of your choice.   

6. Contact Information:

  • A valid e-mail Id as important communications will be made on this e-mail ID.
  • A valid mobile number is important information via SMS that will be sent to this number.

7. Payment Information:

  • Bank account details for payment of the fee.
  • A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account for ONLINE payment.

CMAT Registration process can be completed only on the CMAT official website https://cmat.nta.nic.in/ in simple steps. These steps are given in detail below. Read them carefully and follow them to avoid any errors. 

Remember CMAT registration process will be considered complete only after you have paid the requisite CMAT exam fees, applied and received the confirmation message from the National Testing Agency. CMAT Registration 2026: Step-by-Step Guide

CMAT Registration process can be completed by following the simple steps given below.

  • Step 1: Apply For Online Registration

  • Step 4: Download Confirmation Page

All the steps can be done together or on separate dates and timings. Let us understand these three steps in detail, along with the necessary documents required to complete these steps.

Step 1: CMAT Registration 2026 Apply Online
To start your CMAT application process, first register yourself online. Follow these steps to apply for your online registration. 

  • Visit the CMAT official website cmat.nta.nic.in. The CMAT Registration 2026 link is given on this page. Click on the ‘Registration for CMAT-2026’ link. The CMAT exam registration page will open.
  • On this page, you will see the option ‘Register Yourself for the above-mentioned exam’. Click on the ‘New Registration’ button. The CMAT application form registration page will open.
  • Read CMAT exam instructions on this page and click the CMAT exam undertaking that says “I have downloaded the Information Bulletin of Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2026, read and understood all the Instructions therein as well as those mentioned above, and will fill up the online Application Form for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2026 accordingly.”
  • CMAT personal details forms will open. Fill in your personal details like Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Address and submit it.
  • You also have to create your CMAT login Password and security question that you will use to log in to your CMAT account to fill complete form and downloadthe  CMAT admit card. 

After successfully submitting your details, you will be received OTP on your email, which you need to submit onthe  CMAT website. After submitting the OTP, you will receive a Registration Verification message

Step 2: Fill Online Application Form
After you have successfully registered in step 1 above, you need to log in to your account by submittingthe followingg details: 

  • Application No./Email ID
  • Password
  • Security PIN 

After login, you will be asked to submit some more details, such as:

  • Your choice of CMAT Exam centres
  • Your educational qualifications
  • Your Photograph (check guidelines in a separate section below)
  • Your Signature (check guidelines in a separate section below)

Step 3: Pay Fee Online 
After completing steps 1 and 2, paythe  CMAT Registration & Application fee online through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/e-Challan. CMAT Registration Fee 2026 includes the CMAT Application Fee and the CMAT Exam Fee. After completing the payment, you will receive a confirmation on the CMAT site as well as in your email inbox. 

Step 4: Download Confirmation Page
After making a successful payment of the CMAT registration and exam fee, you can download and print the Confirmation Page. This is proof that your CMAT exam registration is complete. .

Important Instruction about CMAT PASSWORD

During online form filling, the candidate will be required to choose a password and a security question and its Answer. The candidate is advised to record/remember their password for all future logins. For subsequent logins, the candidate will be able to log in directly with their respective system-generated Application Number and the chosen Password. The candidate is advised not to disclose or share their password with anybody. Neither NTA nor NIC will be responsible for the violation or misuse of the password of a candidate. Candidates can change his/her passwords after login if desired. Candidates should remember to log out at the end of their session so that the particulars of the candidate cannot be tampered with or modified by unauthorised persons.

The Password must be as per the following Password policy.

  • Password must be 8 to 13 characters long.
  • Password must have at least one Upper case letter.
  • Password must have at least one Lower case alphabet.
  • Password must have at least one numeric value.
  • Password must have at least one special character, for example: !@#$%^&*-

How to reset CMAT Password
The following options are available to reset Password

  • Usingthe  Security Question and its Answer you have chosen during Form filling.
  • Using a verification code sent via text message (SMS) to your Registered Mobile No.
  • Using a reset link sent via Email to your Registered Email address.

CMAT Photograph and Signature Guideline

NTA has issued the following CMAT guidelines for candidates regarding uploading a correct photograph and signature:

  • The photograph should not be with a cap or goggles. The photograph should cover 80% face (without a mask), including the ears, against a white background.
  • Spectacles are allowed if being used regularly.
  • Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not acceptable.
  • Applications not complying with these instructions or with unclear photographs are liable to be rejected.
  • An application without a photograph shall be rejected.
  • The photograph need not be attested.
  • Candidates are advised to take 6 to 8 passport size-coloured photographs with a white background.
  • Passport size photograph is to be used for uploading on the Online Application Form and also for pasting on the Attendance Sheet at the Examination centre.
  • The candidate should scan his/her passport size photograph for uploading. File size must be between 10 kb and 200 kb.
  • The candidate should puttheirs full signature on white paper with a blue/Black Ink pen and scan it for uploading. File size must be between 04 kb and 30 kb.

CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

CMAT registration 2026 eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of a Bachelor’s Degree, whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for the academic year 2026-27, can also apply for the CMAT exam.
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • There is no age restriction for appearing in the CMAT exam.

CMAT Exam Registration Mistakes to Avoid

Take the following steps to avoid mistakes in the CMAT registration process:

  • Review Carefully: Check all details on each page (e.g., personal info, DOB, contact) before submitting. Use the ‘Edit Registration Form’ button to make changes.
  • Flexibility in Filling: You can complete the entire registration and application at once or in separate sessions. Take your time and review all details after some time, and only then press the submit button.
  • Agree to Declaration: You must confirm the accuracy of your information by clicking ‘I Agree’ before final submission.
  • Fee Payment Confirmation is Key: Your application is only considered successful upon receipt of the application fee. Check for the confirmation message from NTA.

CMAT Registration Error Correction Process

While you must fill form very carefully, in case you have made a mistake, NTA allows you to make some changes after the last date of registration.

After the last date for submission of the CMAT registration form is over, the CMAT Application form error correction window will open for a few days. The candidates will be allowed to correct/modify/edit some of the particulars of the Application Form online only, like the photo and exam centre. Remember, no personal details can be edited.
