The MBA (International Business) is the flagship 2 years full time residential management offered by IIFT. The programme is open for freshers as well as for graduates with quality work experience. The MBA (IB) is the foundational course for developing a competent cadre of business executives to meet the country’s growing requirements for trained personnel in the field of international management. MBA (IB) is a six trimester general management programme with a focus on international business.  The programme aims at providing a comprehensive coverage incorporating all the important areas and disciplines relevant to international business activities.  The syllabi for MBA (IB) compares favorably with the syllabi of some of the world’s best International Business Schools.

IIFT MBA IB aims at imparting professional education and training in modern management techniques for handling international business operations in a highly dynamic and competitive environment.  Since the development in the international marketing on the one hand and the consequential impact of the same on India’s domestic market on the other, call for a professional approach and sensitivity to international business environment, the MBA (IB) exposes the participants to the challenges in the emerging competitive business environment in an increasingly globalized world.

IIFT offers 6 years part time Ph.D. Programme in Management. The duration can be extended upto 8 years in case of satisfactory performance of the scholars. The programme covers Doctoral research in a variety of business related areas leading to the award of Ph.D degree. The programme is targeted at research scholars, members of teaching faculty in universities and institutes of higher learning, professionals from private, public and government sectors. The main objectives of the Ph.D. Programme are to facilitate pursuing higher studies and advanced research in International Business; to encourage and doing research on contemporary issues in the field of International Business; to encourage publication of research papers in academic journals, occasional papers, monographs, books and other publications.

One of the primary purposes of doctoral studies is to encourage in-depth analysis and enrich knowledge in the chosen field. This includes the ability to apply independently methodologies of scientific research as well as to create new scientific knowledge. Further, the candidate should demonstrate an ability to analyze critically research results and to understand their importance in the relevant context. Skills to present and to effectively communicate research results are needed in order to succeed in postgraduate studies. Thus, it is important to assume an adequate knowledge and understanding of the problems, research methodologies, historical developments, theory formulation and societal importance of the scientific disciplines which are related to the candidates own research field. IIFT has two campuses viz, New Delhi and Kolkata. Selected candidates can attend the course work classes from Delhi as well as Kolkata (via video conferencing)

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) offers 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). The five year IIFT Integrated MBA is a dual degree programme and leads to award of BBA+MBA. IIFT launched 5-Year Integrated MBA at its Kakinada campus in Andhra Pradesh in 2022. For IIFT IPM Admission, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade accepts score of IPMAT exam which is conducted by IIM Indore

The Five Year Integrated Program in Management (IPM) at IIFT-Kakinada aims at imparting managerial and decision making capabilities to young professionals along with integrating management education with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In line with the New Education Policy 2020, with an early induction into the programme and a rigorous and holistic curriculum, the students will be able to demonstrate problem solving skills supported by appropriate analytical techniques and will use ethical and socially conscious judgment while analyzing business situations. Candidates successfully completing the course requirement of integrated programme in management would be awarded Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Analytics) at the end of 3 years and Master of Business Administration (International Business) at the end of 5 years by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. Candidates opting for exit after completing the requirement of first three years, would be awarded Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Analytics). The first three years of the IPM program would be based on semester system and the last two years would be based on the trimester system (as per the prevailing MBA course structure). Promotion from BBA (Business Analytics) to MBA (International Business) will be based on fulfilment of all academic requirements as per rules.
