EQUIS Accreditation is offered by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), a global non-profit organization founded in 1972 and dedicated to promoting excellence in management education. EFMD’s mission is to “act as a catalyst to promote and enhance excellence in management development globally.”
As of December 2024, there are about 250 EQUIS-accredited business schools worldwide, including eight in India.
EQUIS Framework
The EQUIS accreditation process is based on a conceptual framework of quality criteria, continuously reviewed by an international EFMD committee. Each component of the framework, as well as the inter-relationships between them, is evaluated, with standards developed for every aspect to ensure high-quality education and institutional improvement.
